Samayil Industrial City Localises 12 New Projects

Samayil Industrial City, affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received 24 investment applications during the first half of the current year, resulting in the localisation of 12 projects alongside the expansion of two existing facilities, with a combined investment volume exceeding RO 13 million.


These projects will be established across a total land area of 135,000 square metres and span diverse sectors, including packaging materials manufacturing, chemical products, drilling and boring equipment maintenance, furniture and furnishings, metal and wood product processing, equipment repair and maintenance, plastics and polymers, water treatment and purification equipment maintenance, sewage network servicing, marble production, and other high-value-added industries.


Eng Yasser bin Ibrahim al Ajmi, Director General of Samayil Industrial City, stated that the cumulative total investment in the industrial city exceeded RO 239 million by the end of the first half of this year. Currently, 109 operational projects are established within the city, employing 4,031 workers, with an Omanisation rate exceeding 29 per cent. The total leased area has reached 2,637,402 square metres out of the developed area of 7,773,876 square metres, while the city's overall designated land area stands at 11,889,233 square metres.


He further noted that Samayil Industrial City successfully concluded an investment contract during the first half of the year for the construction of labour accommodation and commercial outlets, as well as an agreement for the equipping and operation of a medical fitness examination centre. These efforts are part of the city's ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive services and facilities within the industrial estate, catering specifically to investors and business owners while also benefitting the broader community of the wilayat of Samayil .


Designed in accordance with the latest international standards, Samayil Industrial City aims to offer an integrated environment featuring a diverse array of recreational amenities and services. The city has been zoned into multiple sectors, positioning it as a pioneering model industrial city. - (ONA)
